Specialist string lessons with professional musician and pedagogue Heather Stewart
Build musical and technical skills on the violin/viola through improvisation, composition, games and a broad range of repertoire. Repertoire includes classical, Blues, Jazz, Cajun and more.
Heather Stewart is a specialist violin and voice teacher. She has extensive training and 10 years teaching experience of beginners to advanced musicians with classical, blues, jazz and cajun repertoire, Rolland and Sheila Nelson-based technique development, and improvisatory teaching techniques. Heather currently teaches students aged 4 to 62, beginners to advanced tertiary students and professional musicians. Her goal is to enable string players to build improvising skills, aural skills and independence in their learning that can open the doors to a broad range of music and playing styles.
Heather recently completed a research Masters developing a string program that integrates improvisation and gameplay. She continues this research privately within papers, teaching and workshops. Heather teaches in schools, privately from her home studio and conducts workshops around the country.
